On Saturday, October 8, at 7:30 pm annual favorite Anthony Mazzella kicks off the series to show case the re-release of his first CD. The self titled Anthony Mazzella recording has been remastered by John Herrara and includes original electric fingerstyle guitar compositions and the U2 hit Where the Streets Have No Name. Larry Flick of Billboard Magazine commented about Anthony’s U2 arrangement after hearing him in concert, “He does an astonishing job in creating the energy and pace of a full band with only one guitar. His fingers move like lightening and with a precision that will boggle the mind.” You’ll just have to see him, to believe that only one guitar is being played.
Anthony Mazzella is one of the top guitarists in the world. His incredible two-handed tapping techniques and nimble arpeggiated fingerstyle execution leave audiences spell-bound. He brings 110% to each performance, no two of which are the same.
Get your tickets early, Anthony has sold out his four previous shows at OTCA. Anthony’s music seems to come from some “otherworldly” place. The technical proficiency required to execute his thoughtful and melodic compositions is nothing short of amazing. Anthony is one of the best guitarists walking this planet today.
A professional concert guitarist, recording artist and producer, Anthony has appeared on stages all over the world as a solo artist and as guitarist for world music master Omar Faruk Tekbilek. His recent release “Guitar Heaven” has received rave reviews, and he will play music from this album as well as new compositions not yet recorded.
Known as one of the top guitar players in the world, Anthony’s three previous concerts at OTCA were sellouts. Will this concert be the same as the last one? The staff at OTCA caught up with Anthony to find out about his life, philosophy, music and his upcoming concert at Old Town Center for the Arts.
Guitar One magazine voted Anthony as “one of the top ten guitarists in the country”. A Billboard articles says, “his fingers move like lightning with a precision that will boggle the mind.” Anthony’s two handed tapping techniques, mixed with arpeggiated passages, fleet strumming, and single note melody lines create an orchestral fullness that sounds like several guitars playing at once.
Come and witness for your self this guitar phenomenon, who plays world fusion, finger-style, rock, jazz, classical, flamenco, funk, R&B, and more. His new CD will be available, including signing.
